Tough Waters at the Wharf: Lessons from Orange Beach

Stop #2 of the 2025 Gulf of America Tour brought us to the iconic Wharf Marina for the Orange Beach Billfish Classic. While the energy at the docks was electric and the competition fierce, this tournament didn’t go as planned for Team Fat Chick.

We fished hard, kept our heads in the game, and chased every opportunity we had offshore, but the bites just didn’t line up. No weigh-in this round, and that’s just part of the grind in competitive offshore fishing. Even when the scoreboard doesn’t reflect the effort, there’s always something to take home.

We’re dialing things in and looking ahead. Every tournament is another page in the story, and we’re just getting started. Next stop—Florida. Let’s go.
